A body has been discovered near a creek that feeds into the White River.
Indiana conservation authorities say a body has been discovered near the site where former Des Plaines, Illinois resident Kathryn McGill was swept away by floodwaters more than two months ago.
The Indiana Department of Natural Resources said that on December 29th, Kathryn McGill, 31, was a passenger in a pickup truck driven by her husband, Adam McGill (both pictured), when he tried to navigate floodwater along the White River at the Daviess/Pike County line.
Hunters saw the truck get swept off the road, and while they were able to rescue Adam McGill, Kathryn McGill was gone.
A spokesman for the agency said a resident found the still-unidentified body Friday afternoon near the mouth of a creek that was part of the initial search area. An autopsy is scheduled for Saturday afternoon.
