Two local men have been arrested following separate alleged domestic battery incidents just minutes apart.

Shortly after 8:30 Wednesday night, 32-year old Charles McDowell was arrested following an alleged incident at his apartment at Mill Creek Apartments, that’s in the 600 block of West 36th Street.

Police were called to McDowell’s apartment for a disturbance between he and a female.   Police say the female at the apartment told them that McDowell had battered both she and her three-year old child.

McDowell was taken into custody.  He’s charged with Battery On A Child Less Than 14 Years Old and Domestic Battery In The Presence Of A Child Less Than 14 Years Old.  Both charges are Class D felonies.

Meanwhile, just minutes later, Jasper police responded to a second alleged domestic incident.

Police say 27-year old Troy Denton was arrested for Domestic Battery.  Police say when they arrived at Denton’s apartment in the 14-hundred block of Main Street, a female at that location told them she had been battered by Denton.  He was taken into custody.  The charge against him is also a Class D felony.
