A 29-year old Jasper man was taken into police custody last month following a violent domestic incident.
Police say Matthew Lee Hackman faces multiple felony counts after Jasper police say he allegedly fire a gun and threw a knife towards his wife at the couple’s home in the 1600 block of Third Avenue.
JPD says during the altercation they say happened back on February 16th, Hackman fired a .22-caliber revolver into a mattress next to where his wife was sitting. Police also say he threw a hunting knife that hit the mattress next to where his wife was sitting.

JPD also says the altercation took place in the presence of Hackman’s three-year old daughter who was in an adjoining room.
Hackman is charged with Class B felony criminal confinement, Class C felony intimidation and Class D felony counts of criminal recklessness, domestic violence in the presence of a child and pointing a firearm at an individual.
He is being held on $3,000 cash bond.
