Southridge’s Andy Fischer, the #15 seed in the 182 weight class, upset the #2 seed tonight in the first round of the IHSAA State Wrestling Finals at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

Fischer, who is now 49-3 for the season, pinned South Bend St. Joseph’s Ryan Jankowski a minute and 24 seconds into the first period of the match.

Jankowski was 37-1 before Friday night’s match.

Fischer will now take on Myron Howard-Anderson of Yorktown in the quarter finals Saturday. Howard-Anderson defeated Nathan Warman of Perry Meridian by a 6-3 decision. Howard-Anderson is now 33-6 for the season.

NewsNow Dubois County has a camera crew in Indy, we are following all of Andy’s matches in the state finals. ¬†We will have some of that video hopefully later today.
