Dubois County To Use Third Party To Help Process Gun Permit Applications

ISP_firearmsThe Dubois County Sheriff’s Office will soon be referring all gun permit application background checks to a private, third-party company.

On February 10, 2014, DCSD will no longer printing gun permit applications on paper cards.  Gun permit applicants need to schedule electronic fingerprinting through Morpho Trust, which has an office in Fort Wayne.

The move is designed to make the licensing process more efficient and faster.

DCSD says representatives from Morpho Trust are now traveling the state to explain how they provide electronic screening for different law enforcement agencies.  They will be in Jasper on  Tuesdays from 8a to 4:30p.

Indiana State Police started processing finger print applications with Morpho Trust January 1.  There have been reports of some back-ups and delays in some parts of Indiana.

To schedule an appointment with Morpho Trust, you can do so when you apply for a permit online or you can call 1-877472-6917.
