Orlan E. Bauer, 81, Jasper

Orlan BauerOrlan E. Bauer, 81, of Jasper, died Thursday (January 30) at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper. He was born August 18, 1932, in Dubois, to Edward and Evelyn (Neukam) Bauer. He married Lilly Mae Krodel September 22, 1960, at Christ Lutheran Church in Haysville.

Orlan retired from Indiana Cabinet Company in Dubois, where he worked for many years. He was a Navy veteran and served in the Korean War. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Haysville, enjoyed gardening, and was an avid Indiana University basketball and St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan.

Surviving are his wife, Lilly May Bauer; one daughter, Martha Sue (Marti) Woodward and husband Alan, and two sons, Brian Bauer and Jason Bauer and wife, Melissa, all of Jasper; and three grandchildren, Kendra, Kelsey, and Brandon Bauer

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Kenneth Bauer, and one granddaughter, Amanda Bauer.

Funeral services at 11a.m. Monday at Christ Lutheran Church in Haysville, with burial following in Community Cemetery in Haysville. Pastor Timothy Kraemer will officiate. VFW Post No. 673 will conduct military gravesite rites. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Sunday at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper, and one hour before services Monday at the church.
