Thursday, a Dubois Circuit Court jury found 24-year old Servando Escobedo (pictured), who resided on North Portersville Road in Jasper, not guilty following a two day trail.
Escobedo was found not guilty of the Class B felony charge. He was charged May 3rd after police say he took one of two women stranded on Celestine Road North sexually assaulting her.
Escobedo and three other men stopped to help the women who’s vehicle had a flat tire at about 1am the morning of May 3rd. The other three men were not charged.
A Dubois Circuit Court spokesperson tells NewsNow Dubois County, Escobedo remains jailed on what is called a Bureau of Immigration and Customs hold.
Before is trial started Wednesday, Escobedo pled guilty to having a false government ID (Class A misdemeanor) at the time he was arrested.
He is scheduled to be sentenced on the False ID charge this coming Wednesday. At that time will be turned over to the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
