Delphine Catherine “Della” Reutman, 86, of Ferdinand, died Thursday (January 23) at her home. She was born November 24, 1927, in St. Meinrad, to Odilo and Pauline (Konerding) Vaal. She married Clarence Reutman May 29, 1954, at St. Meinrad Archabbey Church, He preceded her in death on March 21, 2008.
Della was a member of St. Ferdinand Parish, and its St. Ann’s Sodality and the Ferdinand American Legion Post 124 Auxiliary. She loved word search puzzles.
She is survived by three sons, Charles Reutman, Ferdinand, Terry Reutman and wife Cathy, Dale, and John Reutman and wife Marna. Indianapolis; five daughters, Carol Bradford and husband Dave, Annette Dowell and husband Gary, and Jan Egenolf and husband Dan, all of Mooresville, Darlene Sarber and husband Ken, Dade City, Florida, and Angela Wilson and husband Rob, Micanopy, Florida; three brothers, Walter Vaal and wife Viola, Ferdinand, Arthur Vaal and wife Virginia, Jasper, and Tony Vaal and wife Linda, Michigan; four sisters, Verena Kempf, Huntingburg, Irma Kempf, St. Anthony, Annie Lange. Ferdinand, and Mary Lee Luebbehusen and husband Sylvester, Haubstadt; 18 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren, one great-grandchild and 10 step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Harold Vaal and a step-great-grandchild.
