City of Huntingburg Issuing Trash Pick-Up Survey in Monthly Utility Bill

huntingburgHuntingburg, Ind. – The City of Huntingburg is issuing a survey gaging interest in city-wide curbside trash pick-up.  Surveys will be distributed in residents’ utility bills during the month of February.  All completed surveys should be returned with utility payment or brought to City Hall by March 14, 2014.

The proposed curbside trash pick-up service would include weekly trash pick-up with bi-weekly recycling services. Each household would receive two 96 gallon dumpsters – one for trash and the other for recycling. The City will continue to provide fall and spring “Clean Up Week” services.

The survey was created in partnership with University of Southern Indiana’s Center for Applied Research and Economic Development. Participation is completely voluntary and takes less than 10 minutes to complete. Questions measure interest in this program, what citizens are willing to pay, basic household information, and what is currently done with the trash in that household. Survey participant information will not be tracked by the City of Huntingburg in any way.
