Anna M. “Annie” Alles, 88, Jasper

AnnieAnna M. “Annie” Alles, 88, of Jasper, died Tuesday (January 21) at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper. She was born October 11, 1925, to Joseph T. and Mary K. (Kreilein) Hoffman. She married Jerome “Chick” Alles May 22, 1947, at St. Meinrad Catholic Church.

Annie worked in a war plant in Evansville during World War II and was a payroll clerk at Jasper Office Furniture and the Jasper Novelty Works after the war. She worked for the Jasper Herald for 44 years. She was a 1943 graduate of Jasper High School, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the St. Ann Society, the American Legion Auxiliary, and the VFW Ladies Auxilary.

She is survived by her husband, Jerome “Chick” Alles, two daughters, Bev Alles, Jasper, and Eve Ambler and husband Eric, Carmel; five sons, Joe Alles and wife Sissi, Bob Alles and wife Brenda, Bill Alles and wife Paula, Tom Alles and wife Ellen, and Jerry Alles, all of Jasper.

Funeral services at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial following in the Jasper City Cemetery.
