The City of Huntingburg hosted a public hearing Wednesday night on its proposed new Downtown Revitalization Plan. A large crowd gathered at the Old Town Hall to see the plan which is the result of a $40,000 planning grant awarded by the state’s Office of Community and Rural Affairs and a $5,000 match from the city.
The plan was put together for the city by Development Concepts, Inc. of Indianapolis and Evansville-based Commonwealth Engineers, Inc.
The plan includes development ideas for the area of downtown from 3rd to 5th and Geiger to Van Buren Streets.
Input from last night’s public hearing will be incorporated into the final plan.
The Huntingburg City Council will need to formally adopt the plan once its finished.
