Hackney was taken into custody Saturday night. JPD says Hackney contacted a local business by phone pretending to be a JPD officer.
Police say Hackney was trying to fool the business for his own personal gain. Police are not disclosing what business was the recipient of Hackney’s phone call nor the details of what Hackney was trying to get from the business.
The impersonating an officer charge Hackney now faces is a Class D felony.
