Dan Buening obitDaniel Bernard Buening, 81, of Poseyville, died Friday (January 3) at Signature Health Care of Newburgh. He was born February 28, 1932, in St. Henry, to Bernard and Rosaline (Halbleib) Buening.

Daniel worked as a farmer and was owner of Buening Farm Service. He also worked as a Weaver Popcorn contractor, realtor, and school bus driver. He was a member of Zion Lippe United Church of Christ in Mt. Vernon and the Poseyville Kiwanis Club, enjoyed cooking and grilling, and was known for his sweet corn.

He is survived by two daughters, Paula Maxey and husband Jack, Huntingburg, and Beth Noppenberger and husband Tom, Fishers; three sons, Bernie Buening and wife Becky, Huntingburg, John Buening and wife Karla, Evansville and Joe Buening and wife Christine, Huntingburg; daughter-in-law Janice Buening, Huntingburg; two brothers, Jerome and Pat Buening, both of Huntingburg; one sister, Norma Childress, Dale; 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Tom Buening.

Funeral services at 2 p.m. (EST) Tuesday at Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial following in St. Henry Cemetery. The Reverend Linda Nanninga will officiate at the services. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Monday at Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg . Memorial contributions may be made to Zion Lippe United Church of Christ in Mt.
