Roberta E. Wagner, 93, St. Anthony

Roberta WagnerRoberta E. Wagner, 93, of St. Anthony, died Thursday (December 26) in St. Mary’s Medical Center, Evansville. She was born in Jasper July 10, 1920, to Jacob and Kathryn (Miller) Mundy. She married Othmar N. Wagner May 10, 1941, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Jasper. He died October 11, 1957.

Roberta was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and its Christian Mothers Society. She was a cook at St. Anthony Elementary School, Palm Gardens in Bretzville, Jasper Knights of Columbus and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 673, Jasper. She also retired from Jasper Rubber Products. She enjoyed embroidery, reading, and cooking.

Surviving are three sons, Lawrence Wagner and wife Andrea, Huntingburg, Dennis Wagner and wife Arlene, St. Anthony, and Othmar Wagner Jr. and wife Constance, Santa Claus; three daughters, Kathryn Keaton and husband Curtis, and Julia Ann Mitchell and husband Larry, all of Jasper, and Phyllis Casper and husband Charles “Chuck”, St. Croix; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Mary Jo Wagner, one grandson, Robert Wagner, four brothers, John, Albert, Raymond and Edwin Mundy, and four sisters, Anna Mundy, Rosalyn Mundy, Leona Blessinger, and Pauline Vogler

Funeral services at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with burial following in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Sunday at Becher Funeral Home, Ferdinand, and after 9 a.m. Monday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
