Margie Ingle, 91, Birdseye

Margie Ingle, 91, of Birdseye, died Sunday (December 22) at her home in Birdseye. She was born December 13, 1922, in Dubois County,  to Verner and Grace (Newton) Borden. She married Albertas Ingle May 3, 1940, in Henderson, Kentucky.

Margie was a cook at the Birdseye school before it closed, and retired from the Hoosier Desk Company after 14 years. After retirement, she worked on the small farm where she and and her husband lived all their married life. She loved her little animals, gardening, and her many friends and neighbors. She was a long-time member of the Anderson Valley Christian Church and attended as long as her health permitted.

She is survived by two daughters, Sharon King and husband Gene, and Martha Hughes and husband James, all of Birdseye; two sons, Lee Ingle and Randy Ingle, both of Birdseye; one brother, Robert Borden, Birdseye; six, granddaughters; seven great-granddaughters, four great-grandsons; one great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albertas Ingle, who died March 13, 2007, and one son, Roger Dale Ingle.

Funeral services at 2 p.m. (EST) on Friday at the Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial following in the Birdseye Cemetery. Reverend Albert Madden will officiate.
