Dubois County Once Again Has State’s Lowest Unemployment Rate

unemployment down jobs upDubois County has the state’s lowest unemployment rate once again.

The county’s unemployment rate did rise by 1/10th of a percent, from 5.1% in October to 5.2% in November, but down from the county’s 5.5% rate in November of 2012.

Dubois was tied with Bartholomew, Daviess and Hamilton counties for the lowest unemployment rate.  Now even though Dubois’ rate went up, the others went up more last month.

Fayette and Vermillion counties had the state’s highest unemployment rate last month, both at 9.9%

Indiana’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate dropped to 7.2% in November.  Down from 7.4% in October.

The Indiana Department of Workforce Development says the state gained 25,300 private sector jobs in November which it also says is the largest one-month increase on record.
