Two men with West Virginia addresses were arrested by Huntingburg police Wednesday morning on drug-related charges.
The two are 56-year old Doliver Adkins of Huntington, WV and 31-year old David Gilliam of Wayne, WV.
Shortly before 10am Huntingburg police pulled over a pickup truck the two were in at 6th and Main Street (U. S. 231 and Ind. 64) when the driver was spotted not wearing a seat belt and the truck they were in had a brake light that was out.
HPD brought in the Dubois County Sheriff Department’s K-9, Judge, to help search the vehicle after the HPD officer that made the stop say he smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle. Police say marijuana was found in the truck.
Adkins is charged with O. W. I. with a controlled substance and possession of marijuana. Gilliam is charged with marijuana possession.
Then, later Wednesday night, Gilliam was charged with public intoxication and disorderly conduct. He tested .35% while in the lobby of the Dubois County Community Corrections Center. He had returned to DCCC after getting a medical clearance from Memorial Hospital following the earlier arrest.
