Anita Gunselman, 99, Huntingburg

Anita Gunselman obit photoAnita Gunselman, 99, of Huntingburg, died Friday (December 13) at the Newburgh Healthcare Center in Newburgh. She was born August 14, 1914, in Huntingburg, to Joseph and Mary (Bredhold) Schmidt. She married Clements Gunselman October 1, 1935 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg. Mr. Gunselman died April 12, 2002. Anita was the last surviving sibling in her family.

She was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Beth Hassfurther, Martinsville, and Bonnie Eble and husband William, Newburgh; three sons, Lee Gunselman, Newburgh, Jim Gunselman and wife Lindy, Jasper, and Rick Gunselman and wife Malia, Wadsworth, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and four  great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services at 2 p.m. (EST) Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg with burial following in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-7 p.m. Sunday at the Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. A parish vigil prayer service will be held at 2:45 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
