Local Man Dies While Hunting In Southeast Indiana

A Huntingburg man died while hunting in the Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge in Jackson County Wednesday night.

45-year old Jeff Rottet was hunting separately from friends but when he did not return to his vehicle at a designated time, the friends went searching for him and found him unresponsive in the refuge’s woods.

He was pronounced dead at the hospital in Seymour.

No foul play is suspected in the incident.  The Indiana Department Of Conservation is investigating the incident.
