Jasper Man Arrested For OWI; Possession Of Paraphernalia

KEMP27-year old Michael Adam Kemp of Jasper was arrested by Jasper police Saturday night.  Police say they received several complaints at about 8:20pm Saturday regarding a northbound pickup truck along St. Charles St.

The complaints were the pickup did have its headlights on… had disregarded a stop sign… and would speed up and then slow down.  Another complaint told police that the truck had stopped in the roadway near the intersection of St. Charles and Pleasant View Drive and the driver, Michael Adam Kemp (pictured),  appeared to be intoxicated.  Police say an unknown witness was able to remove the keys from the vehicle while it was stopped, but after a short altercation between the witness and Kemp, Kemp got the pickup’s keys back and continued to drive north on St. Charles until he was stopped by police in the 3100 block.

Kemp is charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.  Police say his blood alcohol level was .14 percent.  He’s also been charged with possession of paraphernalia.
