Darlene Brinkman

Darlene A. Brinkman, 73 of Jasper, died Thursdayt (December 5) at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper. She was born January 26, 1940, to Roman and Leona (Fromme) Schepers. She married Wilfred Brinkman September 10, 1960, at St. Celestine Catholic Church in Celestine.

Darlene was the cafeteria manager at Jasper High School for over 25 years. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, and the St. Joseph’s St. Ann’s Society. She enjoyed quilting, playing golf, and spending time with the grandkids.

Surviving are her husband, Wilfred Brinkman; one daughter, Kathy Grewe and husband Tony, West Chester, Pennsylvania; two sons, Scott Brinkman and wife Christine, and Joe Brinkman, all of Jasper; six grandchildren, Erin and Ted Grewe, Ashley, Emily, Logan, and Jacob Brinkman; six sisters, Sr. Mary Ann Schepers OSB, Ferdinand, Dorothy Lents, Loogootee, Roselyn Brinkman and husband Leonard, Ferdinand, and Bertha Merkley and husband Jerry, Henrietta “Susie” Baglan, and Virlee Harris, all of Jasper; and three brothers, Robert Schepers and wife Annette, Celestine, Jerome Schepers and wife Diana, Santa Claus, and
Alan Schepers and wife Phyllis, Celestine.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roman and Leona Schepers.

Funeral services at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, with entombment to follow in Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Monday (December 9) at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. The St. Joseph’s St. Ann’s Society will pray the rosary at 1:45 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Gentiva Hospice, or to a favorite charity.
