William Albert Feldmeyer, 87, Orlando, Florida

William Albert Feldmeyer, 87, of Orlando, Florida, died November 26 in Florida. He was born in Huntingburg to Samuel Henry and Meta B. (Bartelt) Feldmeyer.

William was an executive in furniture manufacturing for over 30 years, was a past president and trustee of Orlando Elks Lodge #1079, held numerous leadership roles in civic and church organizations throughout his life, and was a veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine “Kay” S. Feldmeyer; one son, Curtis “Kurt” W. Feldmeyer and wife Sabrina, Tobaccoville, North Carolina; five step children, William Sykes, Christine Kamitsis, Linda Rambo, Lawrence Sykes and George Sykes; two nieces, Phyllis Feldmeyer, Huntingburg, and Susan “Sue” (Jarel) Meyer, Holland; 13 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Eunice Dorothy Tormohlen, and one brother, Samuel Louis Feldmeyer.

Funeral services 2 p.m. (EST) Thursday at the Salem United Church of Christ in Huntingburg with burial following in Fairmount Cemetery. The Rev. Mark West will officiate. Friends may call from 1-2 p.m. Thursday at the church. Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg is in charge of arrangements.
