Huntingburg Man Arrested “After His Story Didn’t Make Sense”

YoungHuntingburg police took 38-year old Troy Young into custody early Friday morning after discovering there was a warrant for his arrest out of Henderson County, Kentucky.

HPD says officers were called to Young’s residence in the 600 block of Schuler Avenue shortly before 3 Friday morning.  They say Young called police about seeing someone outside his home wearing a fireman’s jacket.  He told police the subject ran off when police arrived.   Officers say when they questioned Young to get more information, his story kept changing.

That’s when they decided to run a police check on Young and they then discovered the arrest warrant out of Kentucky.  Young was wanted on several felony charges including possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, sellling a stolen firearm, and theft, all Class D felonies in Kentucky.  He was also wanted for criminal mischief.

Young admitted to Huntingburg Police he was originally from Kentucky.  He was taken into custody.  He is being lodged in the Dubois County Security Center waiting for extradiction back to Kentucky.
