Cara Lee SchwartzCara Lee Schwartz, 71, of Huntingburg, died Tuesday (November 26) at her home. She was born December 23, 1941, in Evansville, to C. Jack and Ruby Lee (Buck) Buschkill. She married Alan E. Schwartz July 11, 1964, at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Evansville.

Cara graduated from Indiana State University where she was active in the Chi Omega Sorority, was a special education school teacher, and, most recently, served as director of the Huntingburg Senior Citizens Center. She was an enthusiastic participant in church activities, whether at Salem United Church of Christ, where she was a former church council president, or at Central Christian Church, where she currently held membership.

She is survived by her husband, Alan E. Schwartz; one daughter, Lisa and husband Bruce Parks, Mason, Michigan; three grandchildren, Holly, Joshua, and Katie Parks; one brother, Louis and wife Pam Buschkill, Evansvile; and one sister, Janel and husband Allen Wilder, Evansville.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services at 11 a.m. (EST) Saturday at Central Christian Church in Huntingburg.  Her cremains will be interred at Fairmount Cemetery. Pastor Paul Newland and Pastor Brian Buschkill will officiate the services. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Friday at Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg, and from 10-11 a.m. Saturday prior to the funeral service at the church.
