David Anthony Auffart, 18, Ferdinand

David AuffartDavid Anthony Auffart, 18, of Ferdinand, died Saturday (November 16) near Bristow. He was born March 30,1995, in Jasper to Daryl & Cathy (Lasher) Auffart.

David was a freshman at Purdue University and a farmer. He was a 2013 graduate of Forest Park High School, where he was an honor roll student, competed on academic teams, and played the baritone saxophone in the Rangers’ 2012 state championship marching band. At Forest Park he was a member of the FFA, Beta Club, National Honor Society and Natural Helpers Group. He was active in Forest Park musicals. He was an active member of St. Ferdinand Parish, where he was a youth group leader, Eucharistic Minister, and youth choir member. At Purdue he was a member of The fall concert band and Black and Gold Sound, and a member of the Lifelong Purdue Alumni Association. He enjoyed farming, HALO, nature, and being outdoors.

He is survived by his parents, Daryl and Cathy Auffart, Ferdinand; three sisters, Tempa Auffart, his twin sister, Kelley Auffart, and Rylee Auffart all of Ferdinand;  his paternal grandparents, Anthony and Jeanette Auffart, Ferdinand; and his maternal grandmother, Barbara Lasher, Tell City.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, David L. Lasher.

Funeral services at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Ferdinand Catholic Church with burial following in the church cemetery.
