Two-Year Old Boy Killed In Semi-Van Crash In Washington

A two-year old Washington, Indiana boy has died from injuries he suffered when a semi tractor-trailer drove through a stoplight and crashed into the van he was riding in.

The crash happened Tuesday when the semi traveling on U.S. 50 near Washington ran into the van at the Indiana 257 intersection. The semi hit the driver’s side of the van, pushing it through the intersection.

The boy, two-year old Noah Briggeman was fatally and other family members in the van were injured.

The Daviess County Sheriff’s Department says Noah Briggeman was in child restraints but died after being taken to a Bloomington hospital for his injuries. The Washington Times-Herald is reporting the boy’s mother and 5-year-old brother are ┬áin stable condition at Daviess Community Hospital in Washington, while the boy’s father was treated for minor injuries and later released.

The semi driver was not injured but was cited for failure to yield.
