PHOTO 1FROM INDIANA STATE POLICE (PERRY CO.) – Preliminary investigation showed that today at approximately 2:30 P.M., Kristi M. Byrns, 32, Branchville, IN, was traveling eastbound on I-64 in Perry County. Near the 73 mile marker, Byrns had passed a semi-tractor trailer. While attempting to merge back into the right lane, Byrns lost control of her black 2000 Pontiac Grand Am and traveled off of the south portion of the roadway. The vehicle rolled over twice before coming to rest.

Byrns was transported by Dubois County EMS to Memorial Hospital in Jasper where she was treated for complaints of pain to her right arm and her head.

Byrns was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash, which investigators stated significantly prevented more serious injuries.
