Alvin L. Burger, 99, Jasper

Alvin BurgerAlvin L. Burger, 99 of Jasper, died Friday (October 25) at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center in Jasper. He was born in Jasper June 25, 1914, to Felix and Irene (Jahn) Burger.

Alvin was a farmer and also worked for Jasper Veneer Mills for over 20 years, from which he retired. He was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church, enjoyed gardening, and studying medical publications.

He is survived by his caregivers, John and Cathy Burger, Jasper; and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Charles H. Burger, and one sister, Rose Burger, who died in childhood.

Funeral services at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Precious Blood Catholic Church in Jasper, with entombment to follow in Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum. Friends may call from 9-11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
