Denis L. Uebelhor, 80, Schnellville

Denis UebelhorDenis L. Uebelhor, 80, of Schnellville, died Wednesday (October 16) at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville. Denis was born in Schnellville October 9, 1933, to Hilbert and Rose (Metz) Uebelhor. He married Mary Ann Pund January 15, 1952, at St. Ferdinand Catholic Church in Ferdinand

Denis was a farmer and also worked in construction. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where he served on the building and grounds committee, and was recipient of the Simon Brute award. He was a member of The St. Vincent De Paul Society, past director of the Farm Bureau Cooperative, a member the Schnellville Conservation Club, the Laborers Local Union #561, and the Schnellville Development Club. He enjoyed hunting, and spending time with his family and with his pet dogs. He was born and spent his entire life at his same Schnellville residence.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Ann Uebelhor, Schnellville; two daughters, Becky Ubelhor and husband Roch, Schnellville, and Debbie Brosmer and husband Doug, St. Anthony; four sons, Denis A. Uebelhor and  wife Mary Lee, Ferdinand, Ed Uebelhor and wife Kathy, Schnellville, Charlie Uebelhor, Schnellville, and Perry Uebelhor and wife Pensri, Jasper; 17 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services at 10 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Schnellville with burial following in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Sunday at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, and one hour before services at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
