Virginia L. “Deedle” Seger, 88, Dubois

 

Deedle SegerVirginia L. “Deedle” Seger, 88, of Dubois died Sunday (October 13) at Brookside Village in Jasper. She was born November 7, 1924, in Dale  Alvah North and Florence (Singer) Merry. She married Ralph Seger November 23, 1946, in St. Joseph Church in Jasper. He preceded her in death September 3, 2009.

Virginia was a homemaker, and worked as bookkeeper for Hoffman Brothers Auto Dealership and later as a bookkeeper for General Beverage and the Dubois Water Utilities. She was a member of St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Dubois, the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, The Jasper Circle of the Daughters of Isabella, the Red Hat Ladies Society, and served as the chairman for the March of Dimes in Dubois for several years.
She enjoyed golf, playing cards, watching football, and was an Indiana University and Indianapolis Colts football fan. She was also a fan of Dubois High School sports.

Surviving are one son, Keith and wife Charlotte, Evansville; four grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Raphael’s Church with burial following in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to the 11 o’clock service time Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Raphael’s Catholic Church, the Dubois County Community Foundation, or to a favorite charity.
