Rita M. Healy, 88, of Jasper, died Tuesday (October 8) at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper. She was born in Jasper June 4, 1925, to John and Helen (Hopf) Hohler. She married Joseph Healy June 4, 1946, in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper. He preceded her in death January 7, 2010.

Rita retired from Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper where she managed the food service department for many years. She is a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the St. Ann’s Society and served on St. Joseph Church prayer line. She enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are one daughter, Elizabeth Steiner and husband Norbert, Cannelburg; two sons, Robert Healy and wife Jacquie, Aurora, Colorado, and Bill Healy and wife Christy, Carmel; seven grandchildren; two step grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; one step great-grandson; and one sister, Margie Jahn, Jasper.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Arnella Burger and Betty Hohler, and three brothers, James, John and Paul Hohler.

Funeral services at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial following in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Friday at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. Rosary at 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home Friday by the St. Ann’s Society. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or to the Sisters of Providence at St. Mary of the Woods, or to a favorite charity.
