Mary Ann Titzer, 80, Evansville

Mary Ann TitzerMary Ann (Dudine) Titzer, 80, of Evansville, died Sunday (October 6) at her home. She was born in Jasper, to Theodore and Hildegard (Lehnen) Dudine.

Mary Ann graduated from Jasper High School in 1951 and from St. Mary’s School of Nursing as a registered nurse in 1954. After graduation from nursing school, she worked for Dr. Nonte’s Medical Practice for 8 years. She was a nurse at the Regina Nursing Home. Mary Ann and Dr. Rusche created the Gastroenterology Center at St. Mary’s. She worked at St. Mary’s as an RN and was also a department manager for 33 years. She was awarded Employee of the Year. She retired from St. Mary’s in 2000. She served as President of the Indiana State Gastro Society and was a member of the National Gastro-Intestinal Society. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Evansville. She loved to travel with her family of 16. The family would like to give a special thanks her wonderful, longtime caregiver and Gentiva Hospice.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Thomas B. Titzer; two daughters, Anne Marie Stevens (Michael), Princeton, New Jersey, and Christine Marie Rasmussen (Erik), Ravensdale, Washington; three sons, Steven B. Titzer (Cynthia), Evansville, Patrick T. Titzer (Mitzi), Centennial, Colorado, and Douglas E. Titzer (Kristine), Falls Church, Virginia; one sister, Dorothy Meyer, Jasper; brother, one brother, Kenneth Dudine, Phoenix, Arizona; and four grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Kelsey Stevens, and Benjamin and Melaine Titzer.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Bob and Charles Dudine.

A prayer service at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Boone Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 1301 S. Green River Rd., Evansville with Father Bernie Etienne officiating. Entombment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Mausoleum. Friends may call from 2-7 p.m. Thursday at Boone Funeral Home – East Chapel, where a memorial service will be held at 6:30 pm.
