Robert D. “Bob” Harris, 84, Huntingburg

Bob Harris editedRobert D. “Bob” Harris, 84, of Huntingburg, died Sunday (October 6) at The Waters of Huntingburg.        He was born February 22, 1929, in Evansville, and married  Wanda L. Jochim November 27, 1948, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper.

Bob was a retired automobile salesman for the Ruxer Ford Dealership in Jasper. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg, a former member of the Y.M.I. Club, enjoyed camping, and was an avid gun and knife collector.

He is survived by two daughters, Becky and husband Ron Phillips, and Jenny and husband Hank King, all of Huntingburg; one son, Mike Harris, Huntingburg; one half-sister, Quanna Woodford, Cadiz, Kentucky; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda L. Harris, who died January 13, 2008.

Funeral services at 10 a.m. (EDT) Thursday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg with burial following in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. A parish vigil service will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.
