Linus Bauer, 73, Dubois

Linus BauerLinus Bauer, 73, of Dubois, died Friday (October 4) at his home. He was born December 25, 1939, in Hickory Grove in Dubois County to Peter and Irene (Wolf) Bauer. He married Mary Rasche December 30, 1992, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville.

Linus worked for Wabash Valley Produce for 48 years, from which he retired. He also owned Bauer Farms and Linus Bauer Trucking in Dubois. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville. He was a past member of the Dubois Volunteer Fire Department, was a member of the Dubois County Sportsman’s club, the Dubois Community Club, and the Dubois Jaycees, and was a little league coach at Dubois for many years. He enjoyed fishing and watching his grandchildren play sports, and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Bauer; one daughter, Sandra Bauer, Jasper; three sons, Greg Bauer and wife Jennifer, Ronald C. Bauer and wife Debbie, and Jon Bauer and wife Tiffany, all of Dubois; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers,
Ed Bauer and wife Joan, and Carl Bauer and wife Robin, all of Jasper.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Kathy Bauer-Voelkel, and two sisters, Martha Weisheit, and Linda Bauer.

Funeral services at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville with burial following in St. Paul’s Cemetery. Pastor Charla Grieves will officiate. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper and one hour before services at the church Wednesday.
