Betty A. Wineinger, 80, of Jasper, died Wednesday (October 2) at Brookside Village in Jasper. She was born February 26, 1933, to Ralph and Frances (Becher) Schuch. Her first marriage was to Harold Gunselman. He preceded her in death in April of 1956. She married Donald Wineinger January 27, 1958. He preceded her in death August 3, 2010.


Betty worked as a seamstress at Kimball for 25 years, at the Jasper Glove Factory, and as a nurse’s aide at Memorial Hospital in Jasper. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, St. Joseph’s St. Ann’s Society, the American Legion Post #493 Auxillary, and V.F.W. Post #673 Auxillary, and was a past Stephen Minister and a past member of the Jasper Moose. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, and dominos.


She is survived by four daughters, Sharon Zins, and husband Joe, Loogootee, Donna Greene and husband Don, Loogootee, Yvonne Jochem and husband Mark, St. Henry, and Mary Kamman, Jasper; three sons, Rick Gunselman and wife Jana, Jasper, Ed Wineinger Sr. and wife DeAnn, Jasper, and Donald “J.R.” Wineinger Jr. , Evansville; 20 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson; one brother, Charles Schuck and wife LaVerne, Jasper; and one aunt, Florence Gardner, Jasper.


In addition to her parents and her husbands, she was preceded in death by one son, reg Wineinger, and one sister, Mary Tevebaugh, and one great-grandchild, Bayleigh Wineinger.


Funeral services at 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, with burial to follow at a later date in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Sunday at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper. The St. Ann’s Society will pray a rosary at 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
