Patsy Dean Herring, 77, Jasper

Patsy Dean Herring editedPatsy Dean Herring, 77, of Jasper, died Sunday (September 22) at her home. She was born in Whittington, Illinois, January 19, 1936, to Loria and Pearl (Monday) Whittington. She married Donald Herring September 14, 1957, in the Heights Church of God at West Frankfort, Illinois.

Patsy was a unit secretary at Memorial Hospital in Jasper for many years, and after almost 25 years she retired and was a caregiver for several patients for many years.She enjoyed crocheting and plastic canvas crafts.

Surviving are her husband, Donald Herring; three daughters, Dianna Thomas, Jasper, Kimberly Norman and husband Wayne, Richland, Indiana, and Dawn Herring, Jasper; one son, Darryl Herring, Jasper; eight grandchildren, Melissa Roach, Troy Herring, Roberta Klee, Krystal Goings, Montana Norman, Caitlyn, Allison, and Mackenzie Herring; three step grandchildren, James, Ethan, and Ariel Norman; three great grandchildren, Bryanna and Gavin Roach, and Austin Wright; one sister, Peggy McCann, Ewing, Illinois; and one brothers, Tom Whittington and wife Sue, Benton, Illinois.

Funeral services at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper, with burial following at a later date. Pastor Darrell Wineinger will officiate. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Memorial Hospital, Gentiva Hospice, or to a favorite charity.
