Emogene “Jean” Feldmeyer, 84, Huntingburg

Emogene FeldmeyerEmogene “Jean” Feldmeyer, 84, of Huntingburg, died Friday (September 20) at The Timbers of Jasper. She was born August 3, 1929, in Duff, to Karl and Thresia (Weisheit) Rummel. She married Samuel Feldmeyer September 25, 1948.

Jean worked as an aide with the Southwest Dubois County School Corporation, was a member of Salem United Church of Christ in Huntingburg and the Happy Homemakers Club. She enjoyed crafts, sewing and cooking.

She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Phyllis Ann Feldmeyer, Huningburg; and Susan Gail Meyer and her husband, Jerel Meyer; one sister, Mary Peters, Huntingburg; three brothers, Allen Rummel, Indianapolis, Dave Rummel, Huntingburg, and Robert “Rob” Rummel, Fairview, Texas; special friends Stan and Gayle Jochum of Jasper and Jim Meyer of Holland; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sam, on April 22, 2011; and three brothers, Roy “Bill” Rummel, Ronnie Rummel and Ray Rummel.

Funeral services at 10 a.m. (EDT) Monday at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial following in Fairmount Cemetery. Diaconal Minister Roberta Meyer will officiate the service. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. Memorial contributions may be made to family wishes or to Gentiva Hospice.
