Cornelia Stemle

Cornelia E. Stemle, 99 of Jasper, died Wednesday (September 11) at the home of her daughter Janice Schenk of Carnegie, Pennsylvania. She was born in Jasper September 29, 1913 to George and Frieda (Gutgsell) Baunach. She married Lloyd Stemle on October 24, 1933, in Michigan. He preceded her in death on April 17, 2006.

Cornelia was a homemaker and member of Holy Family Catholic Church and the Blessed Virgin Sodality.

Surviving are one daughter, Janice Schenk and husband John, Carnegie, Pennsylvania; one son, John C. Stemle and wife Marylin, Garber, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Sheila Gambatese and husband Mike, Benedict Schenk and wife Rebecca, and Monica Stemle; three great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Constance Pfeffer, Jasper; and nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Sarah Schenk, and two sisters, Bernadette Grannan and Huberta Kippenbrock.

Funeral services at 10 a.m. Monday at Holy family Catholic Church in Jasper with entombment following in Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Sunday at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. Condolences may be made at www.becherkluesner.com.
