Dr. NicholsonSteven Lee Nicholson, DDS, 62, of Huntingburg, died Thursday (August 22) at his home. He was born March 2, 1951, in Huntingburg, to Robert L. and Lois (Archer) Nicholson. He married Diane Wininger on August 5, 1972..

Steven graduated from Springs Valley High School in 1969, Indiana University in 1973, and the Indiana University School of Dentistry in 1978. He practiced dentistry in Jasper, was a member of the Indiana Dental Association, American Dental Association, First District Dental Society where he had served as a past president, the Dubois County Community Foundation, the Holland Kiwanis Club and the NRA. He was an avid golfer, hunter and loved the outdoors. He a fan of Indiana University basketball and former Indiana coach Bobby Knight. He loved watching his grandchildren play sports.

He is survived by his mother, Lois Nicholson, Cuzco; his wife, Diane Nicholson, Huntingburg; one son, Jason Ryan (Lisa) Nicholson, Huntingburg; two daughters, Tessa Carol (Jack) Neukam, Huntingburg, and Sarah Diane Nicholson, Jeffersonville; grandchildren Kyler Daniel, Kaden Lee and Kamren Robert Neukam and Jax Ryan and Ilie Diane Nicholson; and one brother, Barry Nicholson, Cuzco.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Leroy Nicholson.

Services at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Christian Church of Jasper with Rev. David Darling officiating. Burial will follow in the Cuzco Cemetery at a later date. Friends may call from 1-8 p.m. Monday at Christian Church of Jasper and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the service time at the church. T.L. Pinnick Mortuary in French Lick is in charge of arrangements.
