Kenneth Weisheit, 82, Jasper

aaa Ken WeisheitKenneth Weisheit, 82, of Jasper, died Sunday (August 18) at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper. He was was born on June 20, 1931, in Boone Township in Dubois County to Alvin and Viola (Leistner) Weisheit. He married Louise Hemmerlein September 24, 1953, at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Dubois.

Kenneth retired from Jasper Cabinet, where he worked for many years. He also worked part time at the Dubois County Recycling Center. He was a charter member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Jasper. He was a member of the Jasper Moose, the Ireland Sportsmans Club, and Jasper Outdoor Recreation. He enjoyed playing cards, sports, taking drives in the country, and spending time with his six grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Louise Weisheit, Jasper; two daughters, Susan Gress and husband Terry, Ireland, and Patti Darnell and husband Ken, Mount Sterling, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Kelli, Amber, and Travis Gress, A.J. Darnell, Kerri Jones, and Kenneth “Grant” Darnell.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Lewis Weisheit.

Funeral services at 11 a.m.Thursday at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Jasper, with entombment following in the Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum. Pastor Adam Ruschau will officiate. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper and one hour before services at the church Thursday.
