Patricia Ann Ahrens, 55, Jasper

Patty AhrensPatricia Ann Ahrens, 55 of Jasper, died Sunday (August 11) at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville. She was born in Jasper, May 25, 1958, to Hubert and Earlene (Newton) Gardner. She married Mitchell Ahrens on September 1, 1991.

Patty Ahrens worked at Jasper Engines and Transmission in Jasper. She is a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church. Her hobbies were fishing, crafts and spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are her husband, Mitch Ahrens; one son, Scott Clark, Jasper; two daughters, Desra Krohn and husband Josh, Evansville; and Ginger Combs, Jasper; her mother, Earlene Recker, Jasper; one stepson, James Bassmeier and wife Jane, Evansville; one step-daughter,  Kelli Ahrens, California; one brother, Don Gardner and wife Gail, Aurora, Colorado; two sisters, Linda Lehmkuhler and husband Larry, Hampton, Virginia, and Barbara Brames and husband Nick, Celestine; six grandchildren, Anzie, James, Nikita, Magenta, Donovan and Kendall; and one step grandson, James.

She was preceded in death by her father, Hubert Gardner, and one brother, Daniel Gardner.

Funeral services at 11 a.m. Friday at Shiloh United Methodist Church with burial following in Shiloh Cemetery. The Rev. Larry VanCamp and Rev. Paul Alvey will officiate. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Thursday at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper and one hour before services at church.Memorial contributions may be made to Shiloh United Methodist Church or to the grandchildren’s education fund.
