Judith Ann Boehm-Schmetzer, 69, Dale

Judith SchmetzerJudith Ann Boehm-Schmetzer, 69, died Saturday (August 3) at the CORE Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Dale. She was born March 15, 1944, in Jasper, to Karl and Mildred (Fuchs) Boehm.

Judy was a registered nurse and taught nursing classes for many years. After retiring from Jewish Hospital in Louisville, she became a contract nurse. She was a member of the American Nursing Association and was active in Ballroom Dancing.

She is survived by three daughters, Jill Marie (Daniel) Lynch, Louisville, Heidi Richardson, Huntingburg, and Wendi (Mike) Johns; two sisters, Peggy (David) Birk, Birdseye and Darlene (Kenny) Schepers, Celestine; four brothers, Duane Boehm, Tacoma, Washington, Randy Boehm, Huntingburg, Terry Boehm, Holland, and Mark Boehm, Fernandina Beach, Florida; two sisters-in-law, Louella Boehm, Ferdinand, and Sharla Boehm, Jasper; and eight grandchildren.

 In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Dennis Boehm, and two sisters-in-law, Lindy Boehm and Virginia Ann Boehm.

Funeral services at 1 p.m. (EDT) Saturday at St. James Lutheran Church in Holland. Friends may call at the church from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, the day of the funeral. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Following the visitation and funeral services, her body will be cremated and her cremains interred at Fairview Cemetery in Jasper. Pastor David Darling will officiate the services. Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
