Adrian F. Pund, 86, Ferdinand

Adrian PundAdrian F. Pund, 86, of Ferdinand, died Sunday (August 4) at Brookside Village Senior Living Community in Jasper. He was born in Ferdinand June 17, 1927, to Theodore Sr. and Marie (Lueken) Pund in Ferdinand. He married Anna Mae Schaefer September 18, 1951, in St. Ferdinand Catholic Church in Ferdinand.

Adrian served as president of the St. Meinrad Fire Department board and St. Joseph’s Sodality, president and vice-president of Bricklayers Union Local 52, director of Spencer County Credit Union, was a 4-H club leader, a Spencer County commissioner for the 3rd District and a St. Ferdinand Church Eucharistic minister. He was a charter member of the Bruté Society and a member of the Lincoln Hills Development Corporation and Resource, Conservation and Development Board, Ferdinand Historical Society, Spencer County 4-H Board, extension board Greener Pasture Committee, Cattleman’s Association and Youth and Community Center Board.

Surviving are his wife, Anna Mae Pund; five daughters, Maggie Stimming and husband Chuck, Indianapolis, Karen Hutto and husband Hal, Sandy Run, South Carolina, and Dorothy Buechler and husband Mike, Linda Hassfurther and husband Brian and Janet Uebelhor and husband Kent, all of Ferdinand; three sons, David Pund and wife Sheila, Huntingburg, Virgil Pund and wife Cindy, Cary, Illinois, and John Pund. Ferdinand; three brothers, Joe Pund, Huntingburg, Francis Pund, St. Anthony, and Ted Pund Jr., Boonville; two sisters, Mary Anne Uebelhor , Schnellville and Terri Dicus, Dale; 15 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and seven step-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Eugene and Kevin Pund; a brother, Leroy Pund; and a granddaughter.

Funeral services at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Ferdinand Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and 7-9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand. Condolences may be shared at www.becherfuneralhome.com.
