Jerome A. “Romie” Hasenour, 84, Huntingburg

Romie HasenourJerome A.”Romie”  Hasenour, 84, of Huntingburg passed away Saturday (July 27) in the Scenic Hills Health Care Center in Ferdinand. He was born September 12, 1928, in St. Anthony to Clements and Catherine (Haas) Hasenour. He married Anna Mae Mehringer September 11, 1951, in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper.

Romie was a retired farmer and seed salesman. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing and shooting matches and his family. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, the St. Anthony Community Center, and the YMI in Huntingburg.

He is survived by his wife, Anna Mae Hasenour; two daughters, Shirley Brames and her husband Jim, Huntingburg, and Marla McCain and her husband Tim, Huntingburg; two sons, Stan Hasenour and his wife Cheryl, Huntingburg, and Mike Hasenour and wife Donna, Huntingburg; four sisters, Dorothy Blessinger, Jasper, Marian Hopf and her husband Tom, Jasper, LaVerne Begle and her husband Hilary, Ferdinand, and Kathy Kluemper and her husband Don, Huntingburg; one brother, Robert Hasenour and wife Patti, St. Anthony; sister-in-law, Irma Hasenour, Huntingburg; brother-in-law, Herman Wehr, Newburgh; 11  grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in dath by an infant daughter, Connie Hasenour; two sisters, Marjorie Rasche and Dolores Wehr; and one brother, Allen Hasenour.

Funeral services at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Anthony Catholic Church with burial to follow in St. Anthony Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper and one hour before services at church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony Catholic Church, the Parkinson Disease Foundation (PDF),  American Alzheimer’s Association, and the American Cancer Society.
