Oledia M. Kieffner, 96, Jasper

Olidia Kieffner editedOledia M. Kieffner, 96, passed away Tuesday (July 23) in the Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper.

She was born December 26, 1916, in Shoals, to G. Fred and Margaret (Neukam) Wolf. She married Jacob J. Kieffner, April 25, 1939, in Emmanuel Hill Lutheran Church in Dubois. He preceded her in death on June 24, 1999.

Oledia, along with her late husband, were farmers in the Jasper Community for many years. She is a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and WELCA of St. Paul’s. (Women’s Evangelical Lutheran Church Association).

Surviving are one son, Harold W. Kieffner and his wife Mary Ann, Boone Township; five daughters, Lou Ella Mann and her husband Luther, Boone Township, Joann M. Schnarr and her husband Michael D. Boone Township, Marie Neukam and her husband Glenn, Haysville, Darlene Ziegler, Jasper, and Norma Jean Held and her husband Norman, Tell City; son-in-law, Donald Eck, Boone Township; 14 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Margaret Eck, one sister, Irene Bauer, and two brothers, Elmer Wolf and William Wolf.

Funeral services at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with burial to follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery. The Rev. Charla Grieves will officiate. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Friday at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper and one hour before services at church. WELCA of St. Paul’s memorial service will be held at 7: p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville, American Diabetes Association or the ALS (Lou-Gehrig’s) Association.
