Lee W. “Butch” Kraft, Jr., 56, Jasper

Butch final editLee W. “Butch” Kraft Jr. ,56 of Jasper died Monday (July 22) at his home.

He was born in Jasper on July 7, 1957, to Lee W. Kraft Sr. and Shirley (Kane) Kraft.

Lee was Director of the Dubois County Solid Waste Department and also worked for Safety Training and Consulting “STAC”. He was a  member of the Jasper Knights of Columbus Council 1584 and the Jasper Jaycees. He enjoyed welding and construction projects and being outdoors.

Surviving are two daughters, Ashley Kraft, Jasper, and Amanda Kraft, Sumner, Illinois; three sisters, Susan Kraft, Jasper, Allison Maddox, Huntingburg, and Lori Abbett and husband, Phil, Jasper; and one brother, John Kraft, Jasper.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, James Kraft.

Funeral services at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with burial following in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper. Friends may call from  2-8 p.m. Friday at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church or to a favorite charity.
