Marilyn E. Harder, 70, Jasper

Marilyn HarderMarilyn E. Harder, 70, of Jasper, died Thursday (July 18) at her home.

She was born August 31, 1942, in Huntingburg to Lenis and Willa (Hoffman) Kieffner. She married Fredrick Harder September 4, 1962, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville.

Marilyn was a homemaker, and was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses  in 1978. She served as a full time minister for Jehovah’s Witnesses for 12 years. She enjoyed helping people and also enjoyed birds and flowers.

Surviving are her husband, Fredrick Harder; one son, Jon Harder and his wife, Tammy, Indianapolis; two daughters, Teresa Harder, Jasper, and Sara Schwartz, Stendal; two grandchildren, Alexandra and Jessica Schwartz; her mother, Willa E. Kieffner, Jasper; two brothers, Duane Kieffner and Gene Kieffner, both of Haysville. She was preceded in death by her father, Lenis Kieffner.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Jasper. Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Haysville Community Cemetery in Haysville.
