Shirley L. Schepers, 69, Celestine

Shirley editedShirley L. Schepers, 69, of Celestine, died Saturday (July 13) at Select Specialty Hospital in Evansville.

She was born February 12, 1944, in Celestine to Martin and Lucille (Loechte) Hasenour.  She married Herb Schepers May 30, 1964, in St. Celestine Catholic Church in Celestine.

Shirley was a homemaker. She also worked for the Dubois County Recycling Center. She was a member of St. Celestine Catholic Church , St. Ann’s Sodality, the Celestine Community Club, and the “Our Precious Angels” support group. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are her husband, Herb Schepers, Celestine; two sons, Brad Schepers and wife Giesla, Indianapolis, and Brennan Schepers and wife Lori,  Jasper; seven grandchildren, Nicholas, Matthew and Jonathan Schepers, Indianapolis, and Zachary, Noah, Hannah and Ben Schepers, Jasper. She was preceded in death by one son, Brian Schepers, and one sister, Judy Stemle.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Celestine Catholic Church with burial following in the church cemetery. Friends may call from  2-8 p.m. Tuesday at Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. The St. Ann’s Sodality will pray the rosary at 1:45 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Celestine Catholic Church or to a favorite charity.
