Esther A. Brenner, 102, Jasper

Esther Brenner editedEsther A. Brenner, 102, of Jasper died Friday (July 12) at Northwood Good Samaritan Retirement Community in Jasper, Indiana.

She was born in Dubois November 20, 1910, to John  and Amelia (Stamm) Partenheimer. She married Hubert J. Brenner  on June 19, 1954, in Jasper. He preceded her in death on March 3, 1993.

Esther was a homemaker. She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Jasper, the Trinity Women’s Guild, the AARP Chapter #1953, and the Retired Senior Volunteer’s Program. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, and volunteering for Trinity United Church of Christ.

Surviving are one son, Glenn Collon, Dubois; one sister, Mae Cook, Cross Plains, Indiana; four grandchildren, Glenda Prechtel, Dee Ann Hall, Tony Collon, and Timothy Collon; eight great-grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; 13 step-great-grandchildren; and eight step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Charley, Edwin, and Johnny Partenheimer;  one great-grandson, Bo Dean Hall, and three step children, Cornelius Brenner, Betty Scherer, and Robert Brenner.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper. Pastor Jane Hillman will officiate. Friends may call from  4-8 p.m.  Monday at Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper.
