Harold Anthony Buechler, 77, Huntingburg

BuechlerHarold Anthony Buechler, 77, of Huntingburg, died Tuesday (July 9) at the St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper.

He was born July 4, 1936, in Celestin to Arthur and Minnie (Fischer) Buechler. He married Ruthie Hanebutt on November 19, 1955, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg.

Harold was a retired cabinet maker for Jasper Office Furniture Company. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Y.M.I. Club and a life-member of the Celestine Community Club. He enjoyed pitching horse shoes, playing cards, fishing, participating in local softball and baseball leagues when he was younger, and watching the St. Louis Cardinals and Indiana University sports.

Surviving are his wife, Ruthie Buechler, Huntingburg; one daughter, Debbie (Randy) Aders, Huntingburg; three sons, Michael Buechler, David (Carol) Buechler, and Kevin (Jennifer) Buechler, all of Huntingburg; two brothers, Jim Buechler, Celestine, and Arthur Buechler, Jr., Vincennes; three sisters, Mary Fleck, Rose Knies, Jasper, and Kathy Sivori, Huntingburg; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother who died in infancy, Charles Buechler.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. (EDT) Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg with burial to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Friends may call for visitation at the Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2-8 p.m. Friday. A parish rosary followed by a Y.M.I. memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Friday at the funeral home. Condolences and expressions of sympathy may be shared online at
